La Rémissonne
La Rémissonne is the most precise expression of one of our best Pinot Noir plots in Mareuil-sur-Ay, right above our cellars.
Together with Le Léon and Les Cintres, it is one of a trio of specific plot-based cuvées produced only in exceptionally successful years, following the Burgundian climate model: one climate, one grape variety, one vintage.
When this is not possible, La Rémissonne is used in other blends: Mareuil-sur-Ay, Blanc de Noirs or simply Réserve Perpétuelle.

Le Léon
Le Léon is one of the same trio of exceptional plot-based cuvées and is the most precise expression of the Ay terroir, the most chalky of the Pinot Noir crus, which makes the resulting wine remarkably unpretentious.
Apvril Le Philipponnat owned vines at Le Léon, between Ay and Dizy, in as early as 1522. Along with the Clos des Goisses, this plot is the birthplace of the Philipponnat vineyards.

Les Cintres
In exceptional years, a limited-quantity edition emerges from the heart of Clos des Goisses. It comes from two adjoining Pinot Noir plots: Les Petits Cintres and Les Grands Cintres. These are the oldest-planted and best-exposed plots on the entire Les Goisses hill. Vinified entirely in wooden barrels without malolactic fermentation, this cuvée is deliberately crafted in limited quantities, and is produced using just a third of the harvest volume to avoid weakening the classic cuvée.
